Gotham Memorial Hall

Update on our latest developments

KitchenThe Friday morning Coffee Shop has now been successfully running since February 2010.  This is run entirely by volunteers on our behalf.  The money raised from this has now been used to refurbish the Cheeseroller Kitchen.  The refurbishment was completed with the help of several local tradesmen at little or no cost to the Trustees.  We would like to thank the following for their help:  Eric Perrell (Kitchen fitting), Andy Litchfield (Plumbing), Paul North (Installing Worktops and Building Units), Peter Hallam (Gas fitting) and Chris Anstey (Electrics).

Kitchen We have also been working hard improving the outdoor area.  We have improved the garden area and installed a metal shed.  We have also purchased some Bistro style table and chairs for outdoor use – it’s just a shame we don’t seem to be having much Summer weather to be able to make full use of them.   We have received donations from Lynn Sykes and Eon towards the outdoor furniture.

We are now busy improving the main hall.  Andrew Vickers, with help from some of the other Trustees, has been working hard on the stage area, which hasn’t been touched for many years.  We have also purchased 100 new banqueting chairs, it will be nice to have this many matching chairs and also more comfortable when watching shows.  We also have plans to try and soften the feel of the Memorial Hall and make it more appealing for parties.

We think our front garden area looks lovely at this time of year, hope you agree.
